IPTA COMMITTEES AND GOAL STATEMENTS

Development Committee

Function: The primary goal for the Development Committee shall be to seek funding for IPTA based on the financial needs of the society. In that endeavor it shall develop a plan for soliciting annual support and recognizing contributions to the society.

Education Committee

Function: The Education Committee shall be responsible for expanding the Society’s educational activities. It will focus specifically on organizing the IPTA Congress Post Graduate Course, planning pediatric symposia at other meetings and developing patient literature.

Nominating Committee

Chair and membership: Selected by the Executive Committee. Membership must include one representative from the Executive Committee, one member from the Board of Directors who is not a member of the Executive Committee, and one representative from the membership at large who is not a director.

Function: The Nominating Committee shall solicit potential nominees from the membership for election to the Council. They are responsible for preparation of a statement of experience and qualifications for each nominee for presentation to the Council. After Council approval of the potential nominees, the committee shall inform the membership of the nomination process and prepare a ballot that staff will send to the membership.

Membership Committee

Function: The Membership committee shall actively recruit new members to the association and retain current members. It is the responsibility of this committee to define membership criteria and review applications to ensure complete applicant information is being captured. The committee will work with staff to develop membership marketing plans.

Outreach Committee

Function: The Outreach Committee will oversee all phases of the Outreach Program. This includes reviewing and evaluating applications, performing onsite needs assessments, and working with selected centers to further develop their programs.

Program Committee

Function: The Program Committee is responsible for assessing the educational needs and scientific interests of the membership and developing the scientific program to assess these needs. It is also the duty of this committee to evaluate the meeting structure based upon the needs assessment data. Members of this committee will determine a theme for the biennial meeting, select potential abstract reviewers, and review and approve all printed materials related to the meeting.

Publications Committee

Function: The Publications Committee shall provide oversight of our journal, Pediatric Transplantation . The committee will focus on rejuvenating the editorial board, generating ideas for journal content, improving efficiency, and reviewing the structure of the editorial board.
